About

Dr. Brainard is a board-certified Dermatologist.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California San Diego.  She received her Master of Science degree in Biology at the University of California San Diego.  She worked for both Dr. Stanley B. Prusiner, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering prions and Flossie Wong-Staal, Ph.D., a major figure in the discovery of HIV and the first to clone that virus.  She went on to earn her Medical Degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship and Dermatology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.  She proudly served the country for 20 years in the United States Navy.  She had the privilege to provide medical care for active duty and retired service members of both the United States Navy and Unites States Marine Corps and their families.  She was involved in the medical training of United States Hospital Corpsmen throughout her career as well as Family Practice residents at the Naval Hospital Jacksonville.  While serving, she received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, and Humanitarian Service Medal.

Dr. Brainard now has the privilege to take care of patients at our offices in Mandarin, Ponte Vedra, and Belfort.

Dr. Brainard is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, American Contact Dermatitis Society, and the National Osteopathic Honor Society Sigma Sigma Phi.

Outside of the office, Dr. Brainard enjoy Pilates, reading, and spending time with her family.
